The Proud Chelsea Gallery has announced that their January exhibition will be titled 'The Last Days of the Arctic: a moving and insightful photographic portrait of a disappearing landscape and the Inuit people who inhabit it', by celebrated photojournalist Ragnar Axelsson.’
The exhibition was inspired by the barely habitable Greenland and the Inuit society that has managed to survive there.
Proud are pleased to announce a unique photo-reportage exhibition including these exceptional photographs of a society in its twilight, the awe inspiring landscapes they live in and the unique hunting rituals which are part of their cultural identity.
The images that show the processes of this dying culture are surely an unmissable portrayal of a place that we’ve only really just begun to understand.
The Exhibition starts on 26 January and will be going on through to 11 March this year (2012).
