Game On: How Bingo Apps Are Creating A Friendzy

The days when playing bingo meant senior citizens traipsing down to the local bingo hall and guarding their lucky seats are a thing of the past. Bingo today is a sleeker, smarter game enjoyed by everybody, old and young and from all corners of life. Most bingo nowadays is being played and embraced online.

The surge in bingo's popularity comes down to how easy it is to get all players involved in the game. You don't need to be an expert or even to have played before, so grannies and kids can play together and both stand an equal chance of winning.

In many ways, the online community has replaced the real community where we live and most of us have collected our friends and family in virtual communities on the web, especially on the social networking site Facebook. Where better to go then if you want to play bingo with people in your 'social network' as well your real-life community? Bingo Friendzy seamlessly connects the two.

That's why Gamesys, the company that runs powerhouse bingo site Jackpotjoy, has secured a platform on Facebook to allow its users to play bingo for real money prizes. A new app called Bingo and Slots Friendzy – so named because you play it with your friends – launched this week. It lets you play bingo on the social networking site for admission costs of as little as a few pence.

Friendzy has a huge selection of games all contained in one App, so you don't have to limit yourself to playing just one type of bingo. The many games available include the traditional 90 Bingo, where players try to guess which numbers out of 90 balls will come up, as well as attractions such as a Community Progressive Jackpot which rolls over jackpots until a winner emerges.

So the next time you're chatting with a friend on Facebook and want to add some fizz to your conversation, why not invite them into Facebook Bingo and play a game of Bingo, Snap or ?  with them? You'll be able to connect with them in the same way as you would if they were sitting across the table from you. But don't become too competitive if your friend has a lucky winning streak; it’s only a game and you might pick all the lucky numbers next time. It’s also possible that both of you will come away with real cash prizes after your evening of fun, so keep playing for your chance to win more.

To join Bingo Friendzy, all you need to do is log into your Facebook account, search for the App and register. Gamesys, the company behind the new App, will take your details to confirm your age and identity – you must be aged 18 or over – and you can start playing straight away. It’s as simple as that.

Gamesys is registered with the authorities and each month pays out prizes worth more than £90m through in winning on games such as the Jackpotjoy daily free bingo games. The company's Managing Director Michael Saunders said at the launch, "We are committed to forming decisive partnerships and extending our products to a wider audience. To be selected to provide our award winning games and entertainment to the UK Facebook community marks an exciting turning point for the industry and a milestone for the business."
