Made in Chelsea: top 10 highlights

Kingsroad.co.uk December 02, 2011 09:32 | Entertainment

To mark the end of series two, E4 treated us to a rather indecorous live showdown - calling it a reunion ‘pardy’ - proving that you can take the well-to-do out of Chelsea, and make them do anything.

The hour long show took place at Under The Bridge on Fulham Road and celebrated Made in Chelsea in all of its unprecedented glory, for what it has brought to Great British tele over the last ten weeks, including a total of nine minutes in awkward silence.

There’s no denying, it’s the show that everyone is tweeting about, utilising our skyline to bring us dramatic riverside showdowns, combining taxidermy with fake tan, and raising the bar for innuendo and damn right intrepid antics.

To thank the cast and hard working crew for keeping us entertained during these chilly November nights, we take you through the best and the worst of Made in Chelsea, season two.

10. “I ate a cricket.” – Gabriella

Not one to be outdone by her ex boyfriend’s new girl, in at number ten is Gabriella’s reaction to Chloe’s maggot on the tongue trick. This isn’t ‘I’m a Celebrity’ ladies.

9. Jamie’s crazy friend Gemma

Who was the random crazy girl staying at Jamie’s country house and where did they find her? Such questions arose, as the cast seemed as befuddled as the viewers by the consistently cackling, cork popping crackpot Gemma. Whatever she was drinking during that episode, I wouldn’t supply at the office Christmas party.

8. The Francis Boulle Foundation

Of all the idiotic entrepreneurial schemes, Francis’ elocution revolution, a foundation dedicated to teaching young criminals the art of good grammar succeeded them all. Francis claimed, had the youngster, who tried to mug him on the streets of Chelsea spoken more eloquently, he may have given him his wallet.

7. Francis and Fredrick pose for Attitude Magazine

“Reaching out to the gay community” - metaphorically of course, Francis and Fredrick posed half naked in a mock tug of war shoot for Attitude, the UK’s number one selling Gay magazine. Need I say anymore?

6. Ollie’s Angling Outfit

Remember the Chanel tee, which he teamed with waterproof dungarees, a pair of Hunters, and a Snowbee hat that would make Izaak Walton jealous? Well forget ‘The 21st Century Man’ Ollie, we think the Angling Times could use a supplement style page?

5.  Francis, Natalya and that dark art studio

When dating Francis Boulle, the guy who swallows innuendos for breakfast, you soon become accustomed to his less than traditional approach to women. In fifth place is the moment Francis revealed his painting of Natalya: “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”

4. The Ollie look-a-likes. “Babe you’re attituding at me”

At number four, is the infamous ‘Fight’ video shoot and the moment Chloe Green stormed onto the set to find four very familiar looking extras. Ok, so she may be a tad on the psychotic side at times, but with grammatically challenged one liners like these, would we want Gab’s to be any other way?

3. “My house, my rules” – Jamie versus Rosie

That awkward moment when you knock on a lady’s door to offer her a nightcap, only to have her close it again in your face. “Not slammed, more politely closed.” Well that’s exactly what Rosie did to our favourite ‘pardy’ boy Jamie, and in his own house no less.

2. “Did you hear that? Why sing words?”

At number two, is Spencer’s horrified reaction to Jamie’s view of the opera. “Maybe opera is like Spencer?” the 22 year-old argued later in his defence, “you either love it, or you learn to love it?” - Either way, a classic moment from the candy man who certainly brought a little comedy to the show this season.

Finally, we arrive at our number one Made in Chelsea moment…

1. Millie’s toast… “To friendship.”

Millie stole much of the limelight throughout series two with her tears, tantrums and vodka throwing antics and when it came to the rather explosive season finale, the minx didn’t disappoint.

Apparently, Millie’s ex and co star Hugo, tilted his head to one side 70% of the time during this series, and let me tell you, it did more than tilt to the side when Millie ousted the love rogue once and for all in a very public speech, and we leave you with that moment…

“I’d like to make a toast to my best friend Rosie Fortescue, for hooking up with Hugo while we were together and lying about it. Here’s to friendship.”

Don’t forget you can catch the 90-minute Made in Chelsea Christmas special, 19 December on E4.
