Tickets now on sale for Gaucho International Polo

Kingsroad.co.uk February 02, 2012 09:01 | Entertainment

On the evening of 21 March 2012 Gaucho will host the Gaucho International Polo at London’s iconic 02 Arena, promising a combination of high-octane polo with world musical entertainment. Gaucho returns this spring following the success of last year’s inaugural event which attracted more than 7000 spectators, making it the highest attended indoor international in the sports history.

Gaucho International Polo has now evolved and will bring a combination of polo and music to Britain for the first time. Grammy award winning band Bajofondo, who have put ‘electrotango’ firmly on the world music map are to open and play throughout the tournament.

Guacho International Polo
The event will consist of two international arena polo matches that will see Scotland taking on Ireland and culminate with the clash between England and Argentina - putting Britain’s finest player Jamie Morrison against the Royals’ favourite star Nacho Figueras.

At the festival, you can enjoy tastings from some of the country’s finest wine producers and take part in its charitable twist - ‘The White Jeans Party’.

The idea behind the white jeans came was due to the hotly debated question amongst the style conscious; what does one wear to a polo match?

And with Prince Harry donning a pair of white jeans at matches around the world, Gaucho decided that in keeping with this, a pound will be donated to the British Forces Foundation (BFF) for every person who arrives wearing a pair.

With ticket prices starting at £20, it is an accessible way of introducing Londoners to Argentina’s most celebrated sporting tradition.

Gaucho International Polo, O2, doors open 5.30pm and polo matches start 7.15pm. Live performances from Bajofondo and the after party at 9.45pm.
