NATIONAL ARMY MUSEUM LAUNCH KIDS ZONE

The new children’s play area at the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road explores aspects of army life from camping to clothing. It includes a dedicated soft-play space for babies, plus arts and crafts, dressing-up costumes, books, toys and panels. There are also fascinating objects from the Museum’s Collection on display, with interactive models for children to touch and explore.
Open daily from 10.10am to 5.15pm. Tickets are free for children under one year and £2.50 for children over one year.
HALF PRICE COCKTAILS AT THE WORLD’S END

The newly refurbished World’s End, 459 King’s Road is offering half-price cocktails Monday-Friday 5-7pm and all day Thursdays. BOISDALE OF BELGRAVIA LIVE JAZZ

The world famous Scottish jazz club, Boisdale of Belgravia, 15 Eccleston Street have live music performers every night of the week and Thursday is no exception. The night will kick off with their regular pianist J P Newton seranading the crowd, followed by the T J Johnson band. Influenced by Ray Charles they will be playing a range of Rhythm and Blues and New Orleans Jazz. For more details visit the website.
ROYAL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA AT CADOGAN HALL

The RPO will be showcasing a programme of Wagner, Brahms and Franck on Wednesday. The Prelude to Act 1 of Lohengrin is an exquisite example of Wagner’s shimmering, spine-tingling orchestration and slowly unfolding harmonies, reaching heights of sublime beauty. Brahms’s Violin Concerto is another treat, with a particularly delectable slow movement. Belgian composer Franck combined French ‘cyclic’ form, in which certain phrases recur throughout, with a more Germanic style – like Wagner, Franck revelled in lush orchestral sounds.
