Creative Chelsea is an exciting new initiative that will see local showrooms, retailers and designers in the Chelsea area hold a multitude of events and activities throughout London Design Festival. The district of Chelsea has a unique design heritage thanks to an impressive array of interior design based companies operating in the area, and Creative Chelsea will be celebrating the design season with various showroom events, new product launches and seminars.

From 6pm on Tuesday 27 September many showrooms taking part in Creative Chelsea will be hosting drinks receptions. Please check the listings below for full details.
 
Decorex International 2011 will bring together a renowned selection of over 280 handpicked exhibitors, showcasing a unique display of exclusive, design-led interior products.

Focus 2011 Over four days, Focus/11 showcases design excellence from over 490 international brands at 89 Design Centre Chelsea Harbour showrooms as well as outside participants in King’s Road, Chelsea.

Missoni Home will launch the new furniture and lighting collection in their new space within the Knots Rugs showroom.

Sofa Workshop will unveil the ‘Little Lady Chair’, inspired by a beautiful and well loved chair discovered at a local antiques fair and recreated specially for Creative Chelsea.

Design House Stockholm will be hosting a drinks reception dedicated to customers on Tuesday 27 September. Guests will be able to take advantage of their mid-season sale. Bargains such as 30 per cent off Wing Furniture and 20 per cent off Bjork rugs will be on display as well as a selection of brand new products.

The Susan Llewellyn Academy of Interior Design is offering free of charge design consultations. Interiors experts Susan Llewellyn and Sarah Corker will provide advice, inspiration and ideas for all your interior design projects. Visitors can make an appointment for a free half hour consultation at

I & J L Brown will be showing their specialist ‘Chelsea Chair’.  The Chelsea Chair has been upholstered in a red and gold striped fabric by Rubelli from the Gershwin collection. Visitors will be able to learn more about the upholstery process behind the chair and feel fabric samples.

Hutson Bespoke have two open days as part of ‘Creative Chelsea’. Visitors to Decorex and Focus can make a short detour to their studio see an exhibition of their new furniture and finishes. Alongside this will be an ongoing presentation showing how their unique finishes and bespoke furniture can enhance projects.

Interio (at Christopher Guy) retailer of fine designer interiors will be launching the luxury furniture brand Dorya to the UK at Decorex.  The Dorya brand will join Interio’s collection of designer brands from around the world which includes Christopher Guy and John Richard. In order to make space in the showroom for the new Dorya collection Interio are holding a sale, with 30-50 per cent off all stock.

Kettal - Contemporary Spanish design company Kettal works with some of the most important names in international design such as Patricia Urquiola, Hella Jongerlius and Marcel Wanders. During Creative Chelsea, Kettal will be holding a product sale and open house drinks event on Tuesday 27 September.
