The Chelsea Day Spa Boutique has recently opened just off Fulham Road, and that’s a good enough reason as any to roll up and engage in some pampering.
The Boutique is a sister spa to the branch on King's Road
– itself a tucked-away oasis in a busy shopping district. The newer branch is tucked round the corner from the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, on Hollywood Road.
Appropriately, the spa offers a variety of packages names after Hollywood greats, like the £99 Breakfast At Tiffany’s package, which involved a facial, brow shape, brow and lash tint and manicure and pedicure.
The glass front enables passers-by to see in as customers have their nail painted, but also serves to make the place seem more open plan. It’s a tiny place – just the nail bar and two cosy treatment rooms, but the staff were lovely and the intimate setting makes for a relaxing experience.
We tried the Darphin lemon and lavender purifying facial, which promises to leave you glowing and refreshed. The therapist took time to ask about our skin type and tailored the treatment accordingly. It began with cleansing and toning, all carried out on a warmed bed with lovely relaxing music. There was also an exfoliating scrub which removed a startling amount of dead skin, a mask, and intensive moisturising.
There was a real sense of customer service, with the therapist giving advice on everything from spot clearers to wrinkle busters. She took into account preferences for make-up and, because the treatment was in the evening, night time beauty routines.
We lost count of the number of different lotions and potions that were applied, but your skin will definitely look clearer and more radiant afterwards. The lovely therapist also gave us a hand and arm massage while the mask did its work, which makes the treatment feel like a real treat.
A Darphin lemon and lavender purifier facial starts from £85.
