Molten Brown skincare range

Molton Brown has, for quite some time, held a place on the British high street as the go-to shop for great shower and bath essentials. Last month it went one step further and branched into the crowded skincare market.

There’s a lot of great skincare regimes out there – but Molton Brown has tapped into the zeitgeist by offering a British-made, simple range for time-poor women.

It claims to offer low maintenance, high performance products with clinically proven results, and improve the skin’s health and ageing process. We tried the Malachite Cleansing Gelle (£25 for 200ml), Pink Toronja Refining Toner (£25 for 200ml) and the Rosa Fruit Anti-ageing Hydra-crème (£65 for 50ml).

Each product in the 10-piece skincare collection has been designed for individual skin types and to target specific problems: malachite is rich in antioxidants, and pink toronja grapefruit helps lift old surface cells to polish the skin.
After a week of use the skin was visibly brighter, and felt cleaner and softer. The products are very gentle and feel very luxurious. They also smell like you’re in a posh spa, adding a tiny bit of luxury for your morning routine.

The cleanser foamed well and left oily skin feeling soft, while the toner helped even out any skin imperfections. The real star was the moisturiser which didn’t leave the skin feeling greasy, a real challenge for oily skin. It was light, yet skin felt moisturised all day.

Also in the range is the Karanja Tree SPF30 sunshield which has a light, matte finish to be worn under or over make-up, and the Pep-rich Lip Booster which contains collagen-boosting peptides and African mango and papaya extracts to promote plumper, softer lips.

At more than £100 for an entire regime it’s not cheap, but if each day can feel like a mini-facial, it’s got to be worth it.
