The Wandsworth Bridge Road fête is happening this Saturday 25 June, with fairground stalls, wine and food tastings, flower arranging and pottery workshops, Flamenco dancing, live music, face painting, a barbecue and strawberries and cream.
Kicking off at 11am with an introduction by the Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham, Cllr Frances Stainton, the event lasts until 5pm. The fête was organised to back the aim for a "big society" and aims to champion local people, local businesses and the Great British High Street. And it seems like everyone is getting involved – from Harrington's children's clothes boutique to Randalls the local butcher and the street's dentist, Karma Dental Care.
There will also be a raffle full of great prizes, with all the proceeds going to the Help a Capital Child charity, which aims to help children in London's disadvantaged communities. Many local retailers will also be offering special offers and exclusive discounts throughout the day and for the following week until 3 July.
So come down to Wandsworth Bridge Road, just off the top of King's Road, on Saturday – there's something to keep everyone amused for the day.
