This month sees the eagerly anticipated return of a Chelsea favourite, with the re-opening of The Hollywood Arms.
After an extreme makeover, the now glamorous bar now boasts a number of stylish rooms including The Blanchard Room - an über elegant upstairs lounge and The Aviary Room - a luxurious conservatory-style dining space.
The new menu at The Hollywood Arms features a host of sharing plates with a traditional twist including Grey Goose vodka-cured salmon, potted Wiltshire rabbit with sourdough bread and diver-caught scallop gratin.
The ideal space for a leisurely lunch or romantic evening meal, the light and airy Aviary Room has birdcage inspired chairs, exuberant spherical chandeliers and a distinctive conservatory-style ceiling. The Shelby Bar, with its vintage mis-matched furniture, flock fabric banquets and ornate mirrors, is a lovely space to relax with friends.
But it wouldn’t be a pub without booze, and the drinks list is sure to satisfy cocktail enthusiasts: the Sloe Royale - sloe gin and champagne- and the pear, mint and vanilla Mojito sound particularly good.
The bar also boasts an impressive choice of top shelf premium spirits including Sipsmith gin and Belvedere vodka, and craft brews such as Sierra Nevada and London Meantime on draft. There are about 40 wines available, but we’re intrigued by the promise of the ‘secret cellar’.
There are regular wine, beer and vodka tastings, visits from producers including cheese-makers and organic farmers, as well as film screenings planned for the next few weeks, so it looks like the Hollywood Arms is the place to be in the run up to Christmas.
