Chelsea’s alternative to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is back in full bloom this week. Chelsea in Bloom, which is now in its seventh year, sees local retailers compete to create the most imaginative displays using fresh flowers and plants.
This year’s theme is The Diamond Jubilee and English eccentricity. Official RHS Judges will judge the participants on creativity, flair and use of fresh flowers. It runs from Monday 21 May until Saturday 26 May and will also feature a special custom-made maze on Sloane Square and pop-up bar from The Botanist
. There will also be free rickshaw rides from the Chelsea in Bloom information point on Duke of York Square so you can zoom around and see all the displays.
Temperatures are set to rise this week so whether you’re visiting this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show
or not, come and enjoy the shopping, flowers and cocktails.
Chelsea In Bloom 2012 takes place from 21 – 26 May and is open to the public between 10am and 5pm. The nearest tube is Sloane Square. For further information visit Chelsea in Bloom.
