Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair opens on Tuesday

The winter Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair in the marquee in Battersea Park, opens on Tuesday 24 January with a full house of more than 140 exhibitors. The event, which runs until Sunday 29 January, showcases a range of unusual and practical period furniture, ranging from mirrors, paintings and lighting, to chairs, glass and ceramics.

The event has a loyal following of some of the best decorative dealers in the country including Christopher Edwards and Andrew Webb - who both trade locally at Core One Antiques in Fulham. Both deal in an eclectic mix of furniture, pictures, sculptures and lighting.

Two more local Core One residents will be on show at Battersea. Returning from the autumn fair will be Orlando Harris of JW Blanchard, and making a debut, Richard Steenberg will bring a selection of country house pieces including a Howard and Sons deep-seated 1910 'Henley' armchair.

Exhibiting is also Lorfords Antiques from Tetbury, Gloucestershire, which is home to a number of high profile decorative dealers including David Juran of Magus Antiques, owner of The Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair.

Lorfords will bring their usual enticing selection of painted furniture and decorative accessories including a pair of four feet Southern European glazed vases from 1960.

Visitors can travel to the fair by taking the tube to Sloane Square and hopping on the courtesy silver Renault Espaces from outside Sloane Square Hotel every 15 minutes. Tickets are £10 on the door.

For a full exhibitor list and visitor opening times visit The Decorative Antiques & Textile website.
